How to Speed Up a Computer
Everybody wants to run
computers faster and faster. There are new apps, new software to run the
computer faster but at the same time, such apps and software always make some
undesirable changes to the computer or sometimes steal the information. I would
like to describe two software which is freely available and doing no harm to
your computer or laptop. The software helps in improving the speed of a
computer.
(A) Google
Desktop:
The Google Desktop
software can be used to explore the computer disk for searching files, music,
webpages, google gadgets, chats, etc. However, the software had been
discontinued by Google due to emerging new cloud-based systems. The Google
Desktop software was launched in the year 2008 and is available today on
various sites which maintain old software like Filehippo.com. In Google
Desktop, the software contains various gadgets including e-mail, scratchpad,
photos, news, weather, web clips, and google talk.
Why
it was discontinued?
Google Desktop has been
targeted by hackers and they made the software open to various vulnerabilities.
If Google Desktop is installed on a computer or laptop and there is no good
updated anti-virus is installed; then the software can be targeted by hackers
to seek unauthorized access to the computer or laptop.
Install
it along with ensuring updated virus on computer or laptop:
In order to increase the
speed of the computer, go to https://softfamous.com and download
Google Desktop from https://softfamous.com/google-desktop/. The Google
Desktop also protects the computer or laptop from cyber attacks by
strengthening the protection level.
(B) Download
and install Process Monitor Software:
This software can also be
downloaded by exploring the websites through google. When I explored it, I had
found it on https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/procmon.
This software assists users to view the real-time processes of the computer or
laptop and take necessary action to restrict the viruses from taking rules upon
the processes. The malefide processes can be identified which are reducing the
speed of the computer. It will be downloaded in a zipped file. Only it is
extracted, click upon the file ProcMon and it will open the software window
showing the existing processes running on the computer or laptop.
What
to do while monitoring the processes?
Like in MS-Word, the
ProcMon has tools available below the menu bar to turn off and turn on the
processes. Turning off and on Registry can be done by clicking upon a tool.
When you turn on the registration process it will show, what is going on in the
registry of the computer.
The
SVC Host Process is a secure process; never do anything with this process to
keep your computer secure.
All processes starting with Reg are registry processes. Try to identify the waste processes and which software is running such processes. Install the useless software having no utility for you. Restart the computer and notice the speed of the computer.
Do it again and again.
